After a long and tiring journey from Alor
Setar, it took about 10 hours, and we safely arrived at Kuala Tahan, Pahang in the
Friday morning.
We check-in into the motel and rest for a moment before getting ready for the first activity at 2p.m. in the evening.

By the way, this is the front view of our motel. This motel
provide accommodation and restaurant. We choose the rooms on the ground floor that is easier for us to communicate.
In each of the room, they provide us with comfy 2 double-decker bed and toilet. Each and every room was equip with a fan.

Although the motel does not have air-conditioner, the breeze in the night is very refreshing and calm. This is because this motel located near the hill and the area full with trees. It just such a very nature environment.

On the left side, we are getting ready to hear some briefing
about the history and the daily life of Orang Asli from our tour guide, Abang
Din. While, on the right picture is our lecturer, Miss Azira was imitating the Orang Asli.
The sumpit or blow pipe (malan) is a traditional weapon used by Orang Asli (ingenious) tribe for hunting and during the old days, warfare. There are numerous measurements for the blowpipe ranging from 2 feets to more than 6 feets. The longer the barrel, the longer the distance the dart will go.💨💨
There are many blow pipes being sold in the market as souvenir and does not well functioning, so beware on purchasing one of it. To me, anything intended for display at my home must be authentic, functional and dated or not newly made. It must have the allure or aura of history. "Teras" is used as it is the core of the tree and the strongest part.💪💪
To combine 2 different bamboo with same accurate size, no modern tools are used but a "duri lunak rotan" (part of the rotan tree). So, you can imagine how tedious the process is. It takes roughly 3 months to make a good sumpit such as this, from start to finish.😨😨😨
The dart or the bullet is called as "damak" and it is made by "rotan". The poison for "damak" is obtained from the sap of the Ipoh tree and I was been told that the sap can kill.💀
JUNGLE NIGHT WALK
At Taman Negara, you can also join for the night walk activity.During the activity, you might see some species of insects, snakes, plants and even animal that you did not seen before. A tour guide will guide you along the way and some tips will be given to you on how, what, and why to do in the forest.
Many experience that we got by joining this activity. I also was very-very happy to see a kancil sitting under a tree and a stick insect eating a leaf. Even it was quite scary, but what do I have learnt by joining the activity is that we must keep our forest safe and do not kill all the livings.
For sure we want to see the unique species of animals that we never seen before, so why not we take an action to safe these species of animals? WHO??!!!
